Well the one I am speaking of is going to be problematic as I surf a lot of the forums.. Member on some and just read on many others... It has been some time since I saw it, and even took awhile to fully remember it, but one I did it was a glaring memory as to the GUN, just not the where exactly. Hell, it COULD have been here for all I know, or maybe on I skimmed a time or two and never went back, its hard to say, but I will certainly remember this thread if I ever run into it again, and will certainly post it here for you to check out.

All that being said, on page 1 of THIS THREAD I had another person that remembers them being offered some time back even though he was too slow on the draw (see what I did there? LOL) to get one himself... And I am guessing it was before my own BP days, but at least I am not alone in having seen them at some time or other. Likewise, on page 1, our own vaunted smithy, Goon, seems to think the idea is fine as long as the gun itself is set up properly, and even goes on to state that with that proper set up the colt can be even STRONGER then the Remington that already has one... Pretty strong endorsement I would think?

I shoot the .45 Schofield in my .45 Colt ROA R&D conversion. The .45 ACP is similar in ballistics. The large capacity .45 Colt is not needed in the conversion.:)

Im definitely warming up to the Schofield... Just whenever I do it brings me back full circle that I ALREADY shoot ACP. Just a shame that its so problematic to carry over...

Of course the other drawback with the Schofield is that I cant really pull up to the Wally world back here in the sticks and pick up a fresh box when I need em...

Still.. It does seem a nice round the more I look into it.

The guy that says he looked for them also started thread on several different boards and the result was zilch. I really couldn't care less about what somebody thinks they saw years ago. In fact, there's a whole lot of unfounded wishful thinking in this thread.

So did you miss the post from one of the head honchos at Kirst?

Sorry, For liability reasons we are not going to offer an ACP chambering for the Open Top Colts

The fact remains, and no amount of hearsay and wishful thinking will change it, that a percussion Colt 1860 replica is the wrong platform for a 21,000psi cartridge.

Wow BC! I musta missed something!!!
What convertible Blackpowder revolver does Ruger offer?!!!
Or
Who makes a Blackpowder cylinder for a S.A. Ruger?!!!

This is the Blackpowder forum I think . . . . .

Mike
He's talking about the Blackhawk convertibles, I shoot B/P in mine, but true they're not B/P guns. Ruger has the 38/9mm and the 45Colt/45ACP. I got the 45ACP cylinder and it was a perfect fit so I now shoot both, glad as I had loaded a huge lot of ACP's for my son that moved away so now I can use them and reload them.
