I would appreciate help with powder weight recommendations for the following.....

45acp
230gr lead cast round nose (penn bullets) (0.452")
large primer
WSF powder

I only have WSF to work with, would appreciate powder weight recommendations.

Go buy your self a reloading book for your own safety! So one might give you a double load of powder!

Like said above, look up the information on the Hodgdon load data site for your own safety. NEVER trust someone you don't know on an Internet site with your safety. Even if they have good intentions mistakes can and will happen when writing data on a page. The data you're looking for is on the link provided above by "rc".

Absolutely. Never go to the net unless your book is incomplete and doesn't have the data. Then get another book. Then go to the manufacturer's website.

The load you get from 'some guy on the internet' is appropriate for shooting sessions where you have someone hold your beer while you shoot. I may ask these guys for help with a load, but only if I find a conflict or lack of data in regular sources. And when I do, I'm VERY picky about whose advice I will trust.

Thanks guys, I know not to trust everything on the internet. I compare load data in published manuals and wwpowder website with data from the internet.

So far, I have found very little data with WSF and lead cast bullets.

+1 on verifying loads with published load data.

As rcmodel indicated, Hodgdon lists quite a bit of lead load data for WSF - http://data.hodgdon.com/cartridge_load.asp
155 gr Lead SWC WSF OAL 1.230" Start 7.1 gr (934 fps) 11,600 CUP - Max 7.9 gr (1064 fps) 15,900 CUP

180 gr Lead FP WSF OAL 1.140" Start 6.6 gr (887 fps) 12,200 CUP - Max 7.3 gr (1003 fps) 16,500 CUP

200 gr Lead SWC WSF OAL 1.225" Start 6.0 gr (870 fps) 15,200 PSI - Max 6.7 gr (970 fps) 19,400 PSI

230 gr Lead RN WSF OAL 1.200" Start 5.8 gr (832 fps) 14,500 CUP - Max 6.3 gr (892 fps) 16,800 CUP

There's nothing wrong with trying other's charge/bullet combos as long as you verify it's a safe charge and you understand the differences between bullet types/brands and how that impacts OAL. Not for the novice reloader.
