Guys I have heard good things about clays powder and was needing data on using it in the .45acp I have the new hodgdon annual reload data and it dosn't have what I am looking for or maybe I am overlooking it I need data for 230gr cast lead round nose any help or links would be appreciated

My Lyman 48th edition shows starting load at 3.6 for 683fps and max at 4.3 for 818fps. This is with a 225 grain LRN. Not the exact weight but close enough to get you started. I use 4.0gr of clays in a Micro Compact Springfield Armory and a convertible blackhawk with a 230 LRN and it works great for me.

3.6 will cycle most any gun. 3.8 JUST makes major power factor for gun games in most 5" barrels. Most shoot 4.0 for the gun games or to duplicate factory ball ammo.

Hogdon book says 4.0 gr = 732 fps @ 17,000 CUP

That was the only listing they had for .45 acp in 230gr
