45acp Small Primer

Actually "NT" has more to do with non-toxic primers. For reloading purposes, I use them just like LP primer cases, but with SP primers after removing primer pocket crimps if any.

Are all the new small primer 45's considered "lead-free"? It doesn't take a genius to see that soon lead will be legislated out of all shooting. Do due environmental issues and fees, maybe using lead-free primers is more cost effective to US ammo manufacturers.

No. That's where the small primer 45s started, but they've branched out into the standard lines with regular small pistol primers.

i personally prefer spp. i load 9, 40 so its just me buying a boat load of spp and not dedicating lpp to only the 45.

I don't like them. I scrounge brass from the range, and I have to look at every single piece of .45 brass to separate the SP cases. I don't mind using them, but I hate having to look at all the fired cases every time I pick them up.
^^^This.
If I didn't already have 10,000 or so LPP .45 acps, I might not be so biased.
I try to cull them out while case cleaning, but a few always seem to sneak through. I toss them in a zip-lock bag, and when I get 50, I give them to my bud who has been a .38 Spl handloader for about two years and is just getting into .45 acp. That way he only needs one set of dies, and one size primer.

Unfortunately, I accumulate SPP .45 acps rather slowly, and as a result, he only has about 150 so far.
He recently bought his second 1911, so I gave him about 1200 .45 acp cases...I'm sure 99% was LPP. So now he's in the same position as I am...kind of.
