my pin loads (260gr RNFP), i run 5.8gr of W231.

my target/practice loads, i run 5.2gr of bullseye under a 200gr LSWC. will shoot a group the size of a quarter @ 50ft if i do my part, and feels like factory ammo (i KNOW i can run mousefart loads for PPC and similiar games, but i dont like swapping out recoil springs all the time, and especially dont like not being used to the recoil of a factory 230gr round)

both have been superbly accurate for me, and done exactly what i wanted them to do :)

Vihtavouri N-350...so far my Go to powder for .40 .45 & .38 special. Have tried titegroup, unique, silhouette, & 800-x. I LOVE the N-350, seems like the best kept secret in the biz...

My favorite used to be W231. Then I found Titegroup and it became my favorite powder for my 1911's.

My current favorite powder is Unique. Once I work through my 4# jug of Unique I suppose Universal will have to be my favorite since I have 8# ordered. Call me fickle,,,,but it seems to be really hard to go wrong when loading for the .45acp.

I use Unique right now for all my 45ACP loads.
Unique is great in 45 for full power loads it burns clean.

Buy in bulk. A pound will only load about 1000 good full power rounds.

Always have used W231 but have lots of titegroup. Whats the load people are using?

I like Bullseye the best, but I have at lot of estate sale W231 to get through. W231 shoots very even with loads that are clocking barely over 700 fps with a 230 LRN.

I'll throw in PB just because my old buddy down the street gave me two older cans of it. I worked up a nice target load with 200 gr. plated bullets and it shoots real nice, especially for free. I will go back to Unique and Titegroup though.

Bullseye: 4.8gr under a 230g FMJRN. I used to use Unique for my 38special but it didn't burn clean or completely. I try to keep my powder choices as simple as possible and Bullseye does a good 38 and a very good 45ACP.

I use titegroup for 45acp and 45 colt,(not to mention 38, 357, 9mm, 44 sp). :)

I use 4.5gr of titegroup behind a 200gr SWC. Will be trying the same charge for 9mm soon as I can get bullets, dies, and primers...Hodgdon's online data shows it to be a starting load for 9mm...perfect if it works, one less thing to change! Titegroup is good for everything from .380 to .500S&W!!! Might not be best, but it has load data for them all. Even has data for 12ga. Not bad...

I use 231-- 5.2-5.6 gr behind a 200 gr lead SWC. I'm very happy with it, but after reading all of these different response, I'm tempted to try others as well.

Note: 231 also works in many other calibers, which is why I decided on it in the first place.

For lead bullets I use Trail Boss. For jacketed bullets I use AA#7. I have used and like Unique. It's a lot cleaner now. We used to call it "Flaming Dirt.
AA#2 is very versitile, shoots clean and is fairly accurate.
