45LC vs 44mag

You my friend need some diffrent manuals.

Lol. I won't argue that. I can never have too much reloading data. My point is that based on what I do have, the .44mag is the more flexible cartridge. I own both .44mag and .45LC in revolvers, and a .44mag in lever gun. I like both cartridges, I've just always been able to get more out of the .44 based on the data I have.

All these companies make great heavy Ruger/Marlin only loads.
Plus there are quite a few "Ruger Only" loads in today's manuals.
I like the .452 over .429.
 
I say whether you reload or not, choose the 45 Colt. You'll be shooting Cowboy loads from the 44 anyway as they're more pleasant. The 45 hits at least as hard as the 44 magnum and it has a mystique the 44 cannot match
