Requesting recommendations for a scope that fits the following criteria:
1) 1.5x - 4x or 4x fixed
2) 1 in tube
3) whatever reticle
4) whatever illumination
5) one hell of a long eye relief

It's for a Mini-14 shooting 50 yds to 100 yds mainly.

If it were me, I’d consider the Mini-14 a 2 MOA rifle at best, and since you said you are shooting mostly 100 yards and in, I think an expensive scope is a waste of money. I’ve had great luck with both Leupold and Vortex scopes, and their customer service is excellent.

The Leupold scope linked above looks to be in the ballpark for both price & criteria. The Vortex scope (Vortex - my favorite mfg) is oversized in the objective spec.

A used Leupold 4X...I have had one for years (bought new in the late 80’s). Rock solid glass discontinued by Leupold.

I've been impressed with the Bushnell AR Optics for what they cost. Their 1-4x scope in that line scope fits well within your budget. I have their 1-6x AR Optics scope on my AR, got it as a warranty replacement for a Simmons I paid $90 (the Bushnell runs around $300), definitely won that deal.

The Bushnell Prime 1-4x also seems like it would work, though I'd prefer the reticle of the AR Optics scope.

That being said, the Leupold posted earlier is pretty nice.

Ya!! The Leupold 2.5x fixed has zoomed right to the top of my list!! I think I'll visit Scheel's today and see if they have one I can look at.

To be fair, I didn't even know it existed. I saw your post and thought to myself...

"Leupold just released their new 2021 line-up, and they usually have a few fixed power scopes and are generally nice and light with good eye relief. Might as well check their website."

They revamped their website too recently, which is nice cause it was a hot mess. Next to impossible to find what you were looking for. Not too bad now.

Sounds like you need a used Weaver 4x38 Classic K. The Hawke Vantage 4x32 is a GREAT value. The best glass I have is a 4x32 Meopta Artemis 2000 on my 8x57, out of your stated price range.

I am a fan of the old steel Weavers of El Paso. They just look right on so many older (wood and blued steel) rifles. But that new 2.5X Leupold, I want one, I want one now!

I have the VX 1.5X4 on my Marlin 336S and I really like it. I wanted a smaller scope for the rifle that I could drop lower so I removed a Leupold 2X7X33 and installed the little 1.5X4. The reticle is a little busy but I am getting used to it.
