5" 625 Price check (updated w/pic)

I have a line on a like new 5" 625 like new with a bunch of moon clips. I am meeting this guy at the range tomorrow. This guy really takes care of his stuff. I have bought a few of his guns in the past so I really trust him he is a good guy (also a LEO) He offered it to me for $350. It seems like a sweet deal me but cash is going to be a little tight with the Holidays and all but if this is the deal of the year I'm all over it.

It came w/ 50 loaded moon clips. He said I could have the clips but I would have to take them as they were, loaded  .

ME HAPPY :D

I second the motion! Buy it! You won't regret it. If you do, I will gladly give you your money back. My 625 is lonely, and would like a mate.

That's a deal or a steal! :what: :D Local shop just got one in with the box in condition you describe .........price $489.00. :uhoh:

Let me think... $350 for a 625 5" with a pile of moon clips. You had to ask if it's a good deal? :what: BUY IT!! Absolutely run and grab it! ;) Enjoy it, nice revolvers those S&W 625s.

Ye gods!!! You got the gun, the moonclips, AND 300 rounds of ammo, all for $350? Go buy a lottery ticket... your luck's running hot at the moment!!!

:D

That was the deal. Half the guys at the range are not happy with me. :neener: Everyone was talking about this deal but I called the guy about it and they didn't. I've always said it never hurts to ask, sometimes it pays off. ;)

$350 is a great price, it's a buy it even if you don't really want it price.

Around here:
at $500 they will collect dust here.
at $450 they will will sell quickly enough.
at $400 they sell fast.

This was tagged at $375, I shouldered my buddy out of the way so I could lay hands on it before anyone else did, and I offered $350.

It's real funny to go from shooting a 625, back to a .38.

I shoot a .38 most of the time, but had been shooting my 625's quite a lot recently. When I shot my 686 the other day, I was struck by how tiny it was. :D

I've been shooting it for a few days, I'm really starting to like it. It is the first wheel gun that I own sorta (I bought a model 36 and let my dad use it and he has kept it for protection). I think if I can master the DA trigger it should really help my auto game.

DO NOT BUY THIS GUN!!!!!

Geeeezze, man, isn't this OBVIOUS!!

He's LEO. He's gonna sell it to you, let you feel good for a few seconds, then arrest you for theft!

DON'T DO IT! You'll still be in jail for Christmas!! Think of the family!!

. . . uh . . . what's his name and where's he work? You know . . . just curious.

Bought a 625-5 Classic (the stocking dealer special) yesterday. I overpaid, but this one is a really remarkable revolver. It had been worked on by S&W and has the lightest DA stroke and the tightest lockup I've seen in a S&W. No pics yet and haven't been to the range, but I'm expecting this to be a very, very good shooter.

IIRC, the NIB value is around $525 and 98% is around $475. This is consistent with one of the posts above. The 625-5 might go for a little more (my seller thought so anyway) because it was a very limited run, around 1500 units. My point was that it was just another 625. This one was a really superior example, and I figured that the difference wouldn't be remembered very long! If it shoots as well as it promises, it'll be fine.

:) Thanks. I thought he was pretty proud of it. I can't blame the dealers here in Illinois. I think they have a hard time making a go of it with all the restrictive laws, etc.

Have a good one,
Dave
