50 Beowulf 400 Grain Data Help Needed

what do you use your .50 for. I just plick and scare people at the range with my .50 Speer 350g hotcore

The load was a 400gr. Winchester Platinum Tip over Accurate 1680. Up until now, I’ve only shot factory loads in it. Usually Underwood loaded 300gr Speer Gold Dot Deep Curls and Speer 325gr. Bonded HP’s.

Sweet! I tried 1680 with 350 Gr Hornady XTP’s but settled with RL7. One day for sh*ts and grins I’ll load up some 500 grainers for fun.

I built mine to deer hunt here in Ohio since we’re a straight walled restricted state.

It should be a sledgehammer on deer! Bear and hogs too!

I wouldn’t mind a 450 BM. I’d rather have it over the 458 SOCOM. One of my buddy’s has a 458 and it just costs a fortune for brass. Not too mention it’s necked, so the brass probably won’t last as long as the straight walled 450.
I also wouldn’t mind a 350L, but I’d rather have a 358 Yeti, which I firmly believe was on its way to becoming a mainstream cartridge until the 350L came out.

I have a 10.5” 450BM, have not shot it yet. But my .458, 405g HC doing 1750! out of a AR. That’s crazy ballistics. Bass a was $.85 each but worth it

I’m glad I came across this thread! I scored close to 2,000 400-500 grain bullets for a less than a song and haven’t found many powder choices. Sounds like I’m on the hunt for some RL7. I didn’t need any more bullets in this caliber but when they were almost free I couldn’t pass them up. As a side note, I passed up the cast Bullets he had but does anyone shoot cast/gas checked bullets in their 50BW?

I’ve got some 400gr Hi-Tek coated cast bullets on the way to try. I’ve heard good things about them in the Beowulf.

458 Socom is good. Try a 405g HC, I use the same bullet as my 45/70’s
