The latest Shotgun News carries an ad for a 1911 type pistol made by Guncrafter Industries in Huntsville, AR. It's takes a new .50 caliber round called the .50GI. The ad uses the slogan, "Controllable Big Bore Power!"
The case looks as long as a standard .45 ACP, but has a longer bullet than the .45 ACP HP in the photo. Looks interesting and reminds me of a story...
Supposedly someone asked a grizzled old lawman, a Texas Ranger I think,
"Why do you carry that old .45 pistol all the time."
His answer,
"They don't make a .50!"
I guess that retort may now be inoperative!
(I know, I know the .50AE has been around for a while. It wasn't available in a 1911 though, was it?)
