500 guns seized in England

I'm more terrified the man died of pantriatic cancer at 49 not at the appearance or existence of small arms on a table owned by a collector. Two things I pick up from this story are 1) live every day to its fullest and 2) man are UK citizens really this "easily terrified".

Ive been in England during one of their "Rabies Scares" . It's embarrassing to watch that society come unglued at the slightest provocation. I can see why my ancestors got out of there almost 400 years ago.

The vaunted U.K. public/universal health care system saved the frightened citizens the expense of prosecution.

Makes one wonder how much a "Parrish Council Chairman and crane operator" makes over there.

I wonder if these were relatively inexpensive due to the laws or the opposite?

I like bazooka Joe(sephine) or Sergeant Witch holding the "bazooka" upside down. Maybe she's from Australia?:p

On the face of it it looks like he has some really neat stuff bought illegally. I think most of it has just been dragged out for a photo op though. You can buy most of that stuff on the DEWAT market over the counter in England and I'd bet cash money most of those "guns" are not working firearms. He probably did have a few more than his permit allowed of working examples but most of that stuff is available for relatively cheap and are not considered firearms at all. he sure didnt have anything that looked like live ammo. Sad to kick a guy when he's dead.

"Should the UK ever again be threatened by an invasion, their populace will have no weapons, no familiarity or training with weapons, and will likely again beg the U.S. to come to its aid. Pathetic."

It's too late for them. The muslims have already invaded and they are disarmed. Death stalks them and waits by their doors. Good Luck England!!

Don't start there... or stop there.

The modern "invasion" of The U.K. began with the Eastern Europeans after the fall of the Soviet Union in conjunction with the erasure of effective borders by the establishment of the E.U.

Firearms crime skyrocketted with the WarPac refugees a couple decades ago.
It was probably back then that this fella began to "hoard" in earnest.

Not many years ago, when in AK, I ran into a couple Britt tourists. It wasn't long before we had them out shooting our handguns. Not to be puny, but they had a blast. We were sorry to hear their stories about conditions in the UK. They couldn't believe that people in AK could walk around armed.

You not puny. I have had several British or Australian subjects out to the range. I had one ask if I was a police because I was wearing a 45.
Man you should be smiling like they were when they left.

Many of the bullets pictured look like cast lead black powder mini-balls.

Can I get the furniture off that M16 before they destroy it? (if not the entire rifle)

I would say that only the British would classify any firearms which were NEVER used to commit a crime as a "terrifying arsenal".

But then I look around here in our own country...

And the "200,000 rounds of ammunition"? That is so wildly WRONG as to be an epic facepalm moment.

A "Calico 9mm submachine gun"? Really? A SUBMACHINE GUN?

My face is bruised from the facepalm here...

Oh the irony. 500 guns taken off "the street" and he never hurt anyone, but he's the bad guy.

Do you prefer the term machine pistol? There are transferable Calico sears out there and plenty of "not transferable" full auto Calicos out there too.

I took them at face value - for what that's worth given their lack "correctness". I saw Calico 9mm submachine gun and thought "Yeah Baby!"

I shot a legal Calico .22 MG before and would really like to give a compensated 9 a go.

We shouldn't make fun of the Brits too much. Our next president is either going to be a communist, a socialist or a Democrat (I'll let you figure out who is which) and they'll be choosing the next SC justice.

From the article - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ected-firearms-like-stamps.html#ixzz41J8ErJRs
Experts from the National Ballistics Intelligence Service examined many of the weapons and could not find any link to known crimes

Thankfully we can still vote.

...and at the conclusion of WWII, the UK dropped almost all of those US-donated firearms into the sea.

Not true, and I've seen the documentation in the Public Records Office at Kew to prove it (though I want to be on the trail of more, when I can find the time)

They may be DEWATs in this case but Europe must have been awash with hundreds of thousands of stray guns in the wake of WWII. I would bet there's a remarkable amount of automatic weapons, grenades, and who knows what else that's lain quietly stashed in the quiet 'Burgs and 'Tons of Europe and England for the last 70 years.

Almost amusing that the article quotes the local police as opining that the "huge" wall of sleepers (brit-speak for railroad ties) was evidence the decedant might have built a "gun range" on his property.

If, in fact, there was any actual ammuinition for about half what was pitured, a mere railroad tie--sleep-was not going to be any sort of backstop.

Their deductive reasoning is silly in this case too as it is nearly impossible for him to fire any unsuppressed firearms there with others taking note and freaking out.

They'd like to imply that he was quite rural when he was quite - not.

I wonder if they would would donate the loose lead to me for casting. I'll
get it out of their country so they can't throw it at each other.
