Hi all .......I'm looking for loading data (min / max) with H110 for S&W 500 mag using Cast Performance Bullets .......400 grain. All I have from Hodgens for 400 gr. is for Sierra JSP, which I'm hesitant to use for a cast bullet.
Thanx to all for any info you may have ..........

Hodgdon lists the same starting load of 34.0 Gr of H110 for both the 400Gr Sierra JSP and the 440Gr CPB LGC. I would probably reduce the starting load for the 400Gr Sierra JSP by 10% and go from there which would be 30.6Gr.

Don't shoot a 500 but as I recall H110/W296 is an exception to the reduce by 10% rule.

Lyman shows H110 start 32 MAX 35.5 with a lead 375 gr.
375 Barnes they show S 33.9 M 35.0
400 Jacketed they show S 35.8 M 37

You could try emailing Hodgdon and see if they have data that is not listed on their site.
Maybe they do and will answer, maybe they don't or don't answer but all you are out is an email.

While the old "Do NOT reduce H110/W296 by more than 3%!" is a good rule of thumb if you know only the max charge, as you can see by published loads you list, it's not written in stone, nor is it that unsafe to reduce by 10%. Especially if you use magnum primers and a heavy crimp. One only has to look in the Hornady manual to see many of their start charges are sometimes as much as 20% reduced from max, and those loads are not considered unsafe.

Yep
H110 start 32 MAX 35.5 with a lead 375 gr
10% of 35.5 is 3.55, 35.5 -3.5=32 (rounding to 1/10ths)

400 grain jacketed bullet: Min 34 grains Max 40 grains

440 grain lead bullet: Min 34 grains Max 38 grains.

I'd just use the 440 load data personally unless you want lower velocities to prevent leading.

Doesn't Cast Performance provide data any longer with their bullets? I'm a big fan of the .41 250grn bullets... and they came with data.
