I have been thinking about getting one of these for deer season, in the Accumark, or Weathermark. Ultimately would be scoped with a Swarovski Z5. Now I am not going to pretend that I watched this whole video, but I thought the fact that it outpaced the PRC was interesting IIRC.

Want to get the fastest commercial 6.5? Get a 6.5-300 Weatherby Mag... they chamber it in a Vanguard in a 26" barrel. I picked one up in that config a few years ago. I'm a big Weatherby fan but not super excited with the RPM direction.

The 6.5 PRC is not a particularly cavernous cartridge..... the original 6.5-284 Norma is very close in capacity. The RPM being a lengthened 284 beats the PRC.
The the down side is that now youve either got heavy bullets shoved back into the case or your into a 375 length action.

Honestly i like the shape of the RPM a bit more.....but i like leggy cartridges.

Not trying to stir the pot... but what kind of accuracy minded barrel life could someone expect ? 500-600 rds run hard ? 1K run as a hunting gun ?
Carbon ring issues ?

The 264 Win Mag comes to mind.

I guess not everyone runs as hard as some, maybe better said, how many rounds does everyone run through their hunting rifle over a life time ?

Having never worked with the RPM and from experience with other similar cartridges, Id expect 1200-1500rnds from the RPM.
Similar to the 7RM.

Most of the load data ive found shows loads in the mid-high 60s.

My .264 loads were in the low mid 70s, and my 28Noslern/7mm STW loads are/were in the mid to high 80s.

I put 200-250rnds thru the 264wm before selling it with no visible issues in the barrel.

Ive got 300-400 thru the 28 Nosler and it's starting to show some erosion and cracking.

So I definitely need one of these:
