Those Pachmayr grips look nice. How big are they exactly? Do they extend beyond the butt or are they flush like the stock grips and the Bantams? How heavy are they?

The weight difference between the stock Uncle Mike's grips and the Bantams is pretty significant. A stock 642 is 15oz. The scandium-framed 340 is 12oz, but they come with Bantams. I don't know the exact weight difference, but after comparing the two grips, I really doubt the scandium frame is much lighter at all than the Airweight.

A scandium frame of the exact same size should be minutely heavier than the aluminium version.

A tiny anount of Scandium is added to aluminium alloy to make it stronger, not to make it lighter.

It's the titanium frames that are noticibly lighter than aluminium.
