686-3 Help

Hey all,

I can pick up a 4" 686-3 square butt with factory wood in what appears to be excellent condition for $300.00. I am unsure of the year but square butts haven't been made for a while now. I also don't know about box and papers yet. Anything I need to watch out for about this version? Price sounds good to me, am I wrong?

I have a six inch 686-4 that was made in 1994 and it also has a square butt. Not sure of the year when all production went to round butt configuration. The price of $300 for an excellent condition 686-3 sounds good to me. I would probably buy it even though I already have a 686!

Hi Marshall.
I bought my 686-3 new 1992 and i'ts still ticking.
Nothing has broken down so far, great trigger and very accurat.
