sorry to start another thread, but I keep coming up with more questions, and I thought I'd start another thread with a better title.

I'm looking at getting a S&W 686+ pro series, it says it comes cut for moon clips, does this mean that I will have to use moon clips? or is it just an option?

also I'll ask if anyone has any comments on this gun for a first "do everything" revolver? will it work as a woods gun? can is handle a good amount of 357mag?

Moon clips are optional. It works with or without. Moon clips are tough to get working well in .38. You need the right brass and I have bought some sub-par clips in the past.

You can use moonclips, speedloaders or just hand load it. I would say it's a do all gun. I love 686s and they will eat any 357 you feed them.
