6mm ARC ANYONE LOAD FOR IT?

I built 6 ARC Ar15 with Odin Works barrel and have been reloading some for it. As others have mentioned, components very hard to find. I loaded 100 65gr vmax bullets with PowerPro Varmint for starters and then I found 1 box of Berger 100gr target bullets and 1 box of 100gr Hornady soft tips. I've shot 1 inch 5 shot groups at 100 yds but not real consistently. I think overall for the ar platform that it's pretty accurate. Best load so far was with some IMR 4166. I did not have load data for this one so was a bit nervous. Loaded 2 each from 25-28grs in increments of 0.5 - I had no pressure signs until 27.5 which showed very slight ejector marks so I decided to try the 28's which blew primers and deformed the brass so definitely over pressure for me at 28. The 27's actually shot great so I've loaded a handful of those for more testing. I don't have Quickload but if any of you do and could check numbers then that would be great also.

I realize this is older thread, but did you do any more with IMR 4166? And what weight bullets did you try it with, what velocities did you get?

I have just started reloading for my 6mm ARC in the AR platform, 24" X-Caliber barrel. Only bullets I could get my hands on are 108 ELDM's. Shot the factory 108's at a pretty consistent 1moa, my only ladder test ended up with the best group being the top Hornady "gas gun" charge, getting 3/4" @2800fps with the 108. Gonna mess with seating depth to see if I can shrink it any. I've been wondering if anyone has tried a Berger 95gr VLD with something like AR Comp or Varget.

I have shot that bullet .3-.4 for 5 shot strings in a 6mm br. It's pretty good.

I put a 16" 1:7 Ballistics Advantage 6mm ARC barrel on order last week, along with a 16" .223 Wylde. Had been on the fence about .224 Valkyrie, 6.5 Grendel, or 6mm ARC. Some videos from Johnny's Reloading Bench moved me over the line...at least as far as 6mm ARC vs 6.5 Grendel is concerned. I've got .224 Valkyrie brass on backorder from Starline. I reload what I shoot...or will when I have assembled ARs, brass, and appropriate powders available. Happy to have SR and SRM primers on hand...so at least I'd be able to load if everything else comes together. Hornady keeps updating this section of their 11th Ed Reloading Handbook for gas and bolt rifles in 6mm ARC.

It hoping to get them to shoot around 1/2". This was "pick a seating depth that fits in the magazine" and do a ladder test for me. Only 25 rounds in on reloading it, and am very close to something I'd be very happy with.

I think 6 ARC is a fine solution in an AR if you need factory ammo.
If you dont need factory ammo support, a wildcat like a 6 Grendel is a better choice due to higher velocities achievable. Its also extremely simple to load for.

If you are running 6 ARC in a bolt gun? There are far better choices unless you are planning a build off something like a Howa mini action.
