6mm ARC vs 6MM PPC compare and contrast

Hi everyone
I recently had a 6MM ARC and a 6mm PPC PLACED in front of me and was asked to compare and contrast the two!

So I thought who better to talk to about this than my friends @ THR! So let’s do that let’s look about both and have fun with this one, reason for this exercise is simply this the individual who asked me to look into both wants to know if a 6Arc can be as accurate as a 6MM PPC? So what do y’all think?

The ARC is going to produce higher velocity from an AR mag length COAL and with hornady now backing it there will be good support.
As for accuracy there are so many other variables that would affect it more than the small difference between the two cases.

Putting both in anyone’s hands, they’d have to read the headstamp to tell the difference between the two. There’s no real way to make a fair comparison of factory loadings, and it’s really a horserace if both are built in equivalent rifles and loaded to the same standards.

It’s hard to say what makes the 6ppc so ridiculously accurate, but it’s easy to say anything the 6ppc is doing, the 6 arc is doing also. I’d venture I would need to build 10 rifles of each and fire tens of thousands of rounds to even determine if any objective performance difference existed between the two.

Put the 6 Arc in the hands of some top Benchrest shooters and for the most part one of two things will happen, it will get dropped after awhile, or it will take over Benchrest.

My rifle shooting mentor and enabler has just completed 2 guns, one is a rebarreled BR6 and the other is a brand new 6mm XC2.

My hope and plan is to rebarrel a Savage bolt with a 6 ARC. Then see if it will be a poor mans BR6
