6mm Creed or .243 Winchester

What about the economics of reloading? Which cartridge is less costly to reload for?

My 243 Win rifle shoots great but if the 6mm Creedmore is an improvement over the 243 Win and if rifle prices and ammo availability are equal I would go with the newer, improved 6mm Creedmore. However I agree with the 7mm-08 fans. If I were searching for long range accuracy with light recoil I think the 7mm-08 is a better choice than any of the 6mm's.

Thanks guys:
There is certainly enough information her to enable one to make a decision. Now I think I'll ponder a bit over a 25-06 and a 270
The only thing that might sway my initial decision between the two particular guns is the 6.5 has a nice scope and is about the same prices as the 243

I took a slightly different approach.

Started with a .243W with a 1:8, shot it for a couple years and rebarreled it with a 26" Bartlein 1:7.5 in 6mm SLR (kinda like a .243W that's been "creedmoored"). Extra cost was the reamer I bought for specific throat to accommodate AICS mags. had plenty .243W brass. Benefits are I basically FL size cheap Win .243 brass to push the shoulder back to 30 degrees and increase neck length. Even when fireforming brass it's holding sub 3/4MOA. It also has only slightly less powder capacity than the .243 and slightly more than the 6mmC. So I run H4831SC, which "in theory" being slower than H4350 should extend throat life some.
