In reference to an earlier post, I need a quick go/no-go verification on this:

7.5x55 Swiss
165 gr. flat point cast boolit, no gas check
CCI Large Rifle Primer
30.0 gr IMR 4895 (what I get for posting at work!)
Prvi brass

Just want to make sure this light load won't cause unforeseen problems (excessive space in the case, etc.) If the power load is too low, what charge would you recommend? Looking for a soft-shooting load here.

You might have better luck trying to duplicate the performance of the GP-11 round in terms of accuracy. I am assuming you're going to be shooting this out of a K-31 or AMT type of weapon.

True it is a full load. However it is what was designed for the rifle.

Folks, OP is talking about cast bullets. I don't have cast bullet data for 7.5x55 handy, but that 38.4 grains of IMR 4895 is a jacketed bullet load.

You could fill the case with 3FG Black Powder and shoot. Wouldnt make a difference to the rifle would be a very interesting experiment.

You could also try 35 grains of 4895. Reduce the load if the barrel starts to lead.
