A pistol with even more rudamentary sights, a decocker that sometimes doubles as a second trigger and a reputation for becoming a hand held IED occasionally.

Ask anyone who has owned both like myself and 90% will agree the cz52 is not an upgrade from a tokarev in any capacity.

ive always thought about getting a TT33.. but never liked their grips enough to be serious about it.. does anyone make a larger, more ergonomic grip for them?

There's a goofy wrap around grip for the norinco versions. I detest them.

But even they're more ergonomic than the cz52 grip.

well with tokarev, you are pretty much restricted to FMJ ammo while the 357 sig has several hollow point options as well as FMJ.
tokarev is much cheaper to stockpile.
357 is non corrosive while surplus tok isn't.
most guns in 357 sig are $500+ while most handguns in 30 tok are usually under $300.

depending on your definition of a survival gun, I would say the tokarev is much more practical from an economic very but if your survival plan is to escape to the mountains and use it to kill deer, and defend yourself from wolves, bears and big puddy tats, then a 85 grain FMJ is going to be about as useless as wiping before you poop.
