I saw a nice 8 point that a younger guy shot this morning. It was a typical Fl buck. Probably weighed about 100 to 125 lbs.
Interesting thing is the .308 150 core loc bullet fired at a distance of about 50 yds. did not exit the deer even though it was hit broadside. The kid had the bullet and let me examine it. It was nicely mushroomed although it had lost some of it's weight.
I have never recovered a single bullet from any deer that I have shot and I was amazed that this bullet did not exit.
The only bullets I've recovered from game were 2 150 gr. w/w silvertips and a number of .45acp fmj bullets too.
