I have an 870 Express that the Ejector Spring is bent on.
You get the spring from Midway, but how do you change it ?
I think it's some kind of rivet holding it on ?
I've been :banghead: on this all day!!

STOP.

The 870 ejector assembly is riveted in place with an odd-ball double headed rivet.
Changing the ejector REQUIRES a special riveting tool and a special rivet cutting tool.

Sometimes a good gunsmith can cut the rivets in such a way that a new spring can be re-riveted without having to remove the entire ejector assembly.

If he can't, the entire assembly has to be replaced, and this requires re-finishing the receiver, due to the exposed heads on the outside of the receiver.

Best advice: Either find a REAL Remington qualified gunsmith who has these special tools, or send it back to Remington or a Remington-certified repair service.

DO NOT try this is at home, or at the local "do it all" gunsmith.
