Will 20 gauge 870 furniture fit a 12 gauge 870? I'm specifically interested in moving a 20ga youth butt stock to a standard 12 ga. I want wood furniture. Thanks in advance.

If the furniture came off an 'old model' 20 gauge 870 (which was made on a 12 ga. sized frame, last letter in the serial number is X) then the frame sizes are the same. If from a newer model 20 (receiver code K or U) then the 20 ga. frame is smaller.

Used wood both walnut and beech/birch abounds for 12 ga. 870s, there are multiple sets for sale on eBay and similar sites. It's relatively easy to shorten stocks and attach new recoil pads as needed, no reason to put up with a stock that doesn't fit or a pad that's too hard to help with recoil.

It won't work---the 12ga receiver is larger.

I have seen Remington factory and Speedfeed replacements with 13'' LOP for the 12ga-----no wood though.

Thank you, gents. OBG, I've seen the Rmeington factory youth furntiure for the 12ga, but it's synthetic. I'll probably have to go with Lee's suggestion and just cut a wood butt stock.

For those curious, a standard stock is much too large for me and of all the shottys I've held, an 870 20ga Youth felt the best. 20ga is fine, but I want a 12 just because. :)
