The 870 Express is not my favorite pump gun, but my most used and reliable shotgun I own (18 yrs). I've taken deer with it's smooth bore slug barrel, waterfowl with it's standard 28" choked barrel, and numerous small game.

This baby has been used, abused, rained on, dropped, fallen over, thrown in the boat with decoys covering it, and the dogs running on top of it, but it keeps saying "pick me up and shoot me". I don't intentionally abuse it, but things happen in the field you can't control.

I don't care if the finish is not Wingmaster quality. And so what if it has machining marks on the receiver. It works everytime and has never let me down no matter what the weather conditions, or how filthy it may be.

I'm glad I own it........

I have three of them and no complaints. One has been converted into a good HD/slug gun. The other two are super magnums. One I use as a turkey gun, and the other is a spare I bought because it was so goldarned inexpensive. All have the old-style safeties and synthetic stocks, which I like on these guns since the Express factory wood isn't all that pretty. I'll put stock in a $200 Express anyday based on my experiences. They're practical field-use guns, and they go bang when you pull the trigger. What else do you need really?

I have shot a ton of them and while they can be stiff (imho) once you shoot a couple hundred rounds through them they are fine. Many duck, deer, turkeys, and other game are taken with themeach year. Are they a Parazzi? No, but they do the job for most users.

Wow, maybe time to reconsider my opinion of the express line. I must've gotten a bad one. Most expresses must be fine, a little rough around the edges, but a good tool nonetheless.

Thanks for the attitude adjustment THR!
