This is one of those good news/bad news posts:

I found out my Hakim doesn't have headspacing problems. YEAAAAAA!
I found out my Hakim does have a broken extractor. BOOOOOOOOO!

In looking one over at a show this weekend that was priced just a little above what I paid for mine but not in quite as good condition (so I thought), something told me to look at the internals. Sure enough, now what I know what an intact Hakim case ejector is supposed to look like.

So my question is, how hard are these to find and what do they cost to buy and replace? I am expecting bad news, so no need to sugar-coat it...

The guy at the show said Sarco or Numrich may have one; anyone ever dealt with either of them on a rare part such as this? Any input is welcome.

Thanks!

You need an extractor and an ejector?

Numrich is showing both in stock, ejector $7.45 and extractor (repro) for $47.65...looks like they have some of the springs and pins also.

It's on page 3 on Hakim 8mm parts.

I have ordered probably on average 2 times a year from Numrich for the last 15 years or so, I couldn't tell you how many thousands of dollars.

In all that time I have had to return only one screwed up order. I have had nothing but good experiences with them, prices are usually pretty fair, and shipping is usually fast. That's my experience with them.

Good luck.

Did a little more searching around, there is a guy on gunbroker by the handle " jb573" who seems to be the Hakim parts guy. He has a lot of parts and a good seller rating, most of his parts have a "buy it now" option.

Buy from Sarco as a last resort. They may or may not have it in stock even if they advertise it and it may or may not be in useable condition.

Saw the Numrich listing and the Gbroker ad; will try the jb573 guy someday...

In the meantime, can anyone tell me what kind of commonly available surplus 8mm Hakims will take without much difficulty/danger? Thanks!

I use 70's and 80's Romanian and 70's Yugo. Stay away from Turk and 50's Yugo.

I have had the 'excessive pressures in the receiver blowing the mag catch open' problem with 80's Romanian.

Much obliged to all who offered their $.02!
