I finally took my hakim out yesterday and shot it for the first time. I only put 9 rounds through it, and had two jams, and two other times where it didn't chamber another round. That's not the problem I'm concerned about though, as that might just be the gas system needing adjusted or whatever.

The thing that's aggravating me right now is the fact that I can't get the magazine out of the gun. I was thinking that it's like any other gun I've ever shot that takes detachable mags, and apparently, it's not. I have a 10 rounder in it right now, but I also have two 25 rd. mags I wanted to use too, I just can't figure out how to get the mag out. I know these guns were meant to be loaded with stripper clips, but surely there's a way to detach the mag without smashing a finger or something.

Actually, if someone knows a website that tells (in great detail so that even a moron such as myself can understand) how to operate these things, I'd appreciate it. It took me about ten minutes of fumbling around yesterday to even get this thing to shoot. The only thing I know how to use on the rifle for sure is the safety. Everything else I accomplished by accident, or not at all, and I'm so paranoid of "Hakim finger" that I'm scared to get my hands anywhere near the bolt, because when that thing slams shut, it does so with authority.

Another complaint is the muzzle blast. It's like having a firecracker explode at arm's length every time you pull the trigger. I honestly didn't even notice if the recoil was bad or not, because I was more concerned with the "face slap" feeling of shooting it.

The weight of this thing is ridiculous too. I'm fairly weak and scrawny and all, but after fifteen minutes of shooting and trying to make this gun function properly, I was pretty much at muscle failure. Just makes me that much more grateful I was in the U.S. army and not the egyptian army, for more reasons than one.

In fact, I shot my mossberg 590 afterward, and it felt like a toy gun when compared to the hakim.....until I put a really hot 3" slug through it, and then the hakim felt like a really heavy .22.

I only bought the hakim because it was so ugly and awkward that I felt morally obligated to have it sitting in my safe next to all the other useless guns I have. Now I'm regretting spending over $200 on ammo and stuff before I ever even shot it to see how well I liked it.

The only bright side of yesterday's very short shooting session was that the accuracy seemed alright, but to be honest, I was close enough to the cans I was shooting at that I could've just thrown the rifle at it and knocked them over if needed. Well....maybe I couldn't have thrown the rifle that far, but someone who lifts weights and takes steroids could've thrown it that far. (The hakim weighs almost 12 pounds IIRC).
