I just saw this auction on gunbroker for a 940 Smith revolver which was bored out to also accept .38 Super.

Made me ponder. Is the pressure of a Super too much for a little gun like that? With the moon clips could you also shoot 9-18Mak and .380 out of it?

Would be neat if it all worked well!

9x18 mak would not work since it uses bullets larger than the standard 9mm .355"

Chamber pressure for .38 Super is no more than for 9mm P, just a bigger case.

You cannot shoot 9mm Makarov in it because it is actually 9.2mm = .364.

You probably should not shoot .380 because the untapered thin case would not be held firmly by the clips and would bulge worse in the tapered chambers than .38 Super.

I know one that was rechambered for 9x23 Winchester, putting it into magnum country.
