I loaded some 95 grain Federal JSP's to try out this weekend.

6.2 grains CFE-Pistol, seated at 1.060". I'm going to put them through a chrono, but they should clock over 1300 fps....should be fun!

Hodgdon shows the minimum COAL at 1.020". That's really short!

I've been shooting mostly 100gr plated bullets meant for .380 in my 9mm

The crazy thing is you can load them really light and they still cycle. I'm barely over 1,000 fps but it works fine. I'm saving money (less powder per round and the bullets are cheaper than 'standard' 9mm bullets like 124gr) and it's just fun to shoot, recoil is alot lighter. Been using 700-X mainly

I tried the old Remington 88 Gr JHP at 1.040 to 1.045 OAL. It had a tiny cavity and is long for a HP.

I am shooting this blunt Sierra 90 Gr at 1.018 +/- .001 AOL.

I have not loaded any of the Federal 95 Gr JSPs Midway had on sale not long ago.

Just eyeballing them with a case looks like 1.060 to 1.065 might be a good starting point. Not a lot of bullet in the case, but much less than 1.040 is going to be too short with the start of the ogive in the case.
