9mm 124 gr. RN Bulleye powder loads

Usually I use Bullseye for .45, but thought I would try 9mm. I can find data for 115 grain RN, Hornady XTP, 124 grain Nosler HP, and a few others, but no 124 grain plated or jacketed RN. Have measured the Nosler HP and compared lengths to various plated and FMJ RN bullets I have on hand to "extrapolate" a start load. 4 grains at 1.145-1.150 for a starter...But would like any tried and true loads.

With this in mind, anyone have any fav 124 Gr. RN plated or jacketed loads with the Bullseye? I dont need barn burners, but even if you have that type, I can reduce the charge a little I guess. The alliant site only shows Speer GDHP in 115 and 124. Anyone got a good 124 gr. RN 9mm recipe with Bullseye?

Plated loads are usually lead loads. XTP uses jacketed loads. You can always use data for the next heavier bullet. I have never had any problems using lead start loads for jacketed.
I always start with the lowest start load I can find and work up.

I like 3.7 grs for a MBC 125gr 9mm lead cone.
I have also used 4.0 grs but 3.7 seemed to shoot better for me.
Lyman lists 3.8 to 4.2 with a 120 gr lead bullet, 3.4 to 4.2 with a different 120 gr lead bullet and 3.9 to 4.5 with a 125 JHP.

I you are using plated 124(5s) I would try 3.7 and 4.0 and see what works best for you.

I like 4.3 Bullseye with 124 round nose lead bullets. OAL is 1.116". I get 1121 fps avg. Good analog for most factory 124 grainers. Shoots straight too.

I am using 4.0 gr.of Bullseye with a 124 gr. Frontier plated bullet. 3.5 gr. was not 100% reliable with all my 9 mm pistols so I bumped it up to 4.0. Shoots great in my Springfield RO for USPSA and Steel Challenge.

I liked 3.7 under 135s and 4.0 under 124s.

I use 4.1 on plated xtreme 124 RN. COAL is 1.135 and unload with a Glock 19

I have worked up loads for Xtreme 124gr CPRN and CPHP's from 4.0gr to 4.4gr Bullseye. So far I have settled on the 4.2gr load with a COL of 1.145" for the CPRN, and 1.091" for the CPHP.

what OAL are you guys using with your loads?

I pretty much run all my plateds to 1.145-1.15".

You should find the right OAL for your gun, though. Do the plunk test, feeding tests, etc. before loading a bunch.

As to plunk test it is a Glock 17, it will plunk test rounds so long they would never go in a magazine! even my S&W shield will plunk 1.165 just fine, but some length certain loads are more accurate 1.120 with 5.4 of BE-86 is one of my most accurate 9mm loads ever, (with 124 RN) while 5.1-5.4 grains Unique seem to like 1.150-1.160 better, in the 17 anyway.
