Any one here load this? I looked at my Speer #14 manual and it had 4-4.4 listed for their fmj rn so I went with 4.2-4.3 (lee auto disc doesn't seem to meter this as good at hp-38). Would have rather started with 4.1 grains but it was either 3.9 or 4.2 on the powder measure. I loaded 12 test rounds and I liked how they felt out of my taurus pt111 pro but I would say they felt at least as hot as the 124 gold dots I carry, trying to figure out if this is too hot.

Shouldn't be.

A common USPSA load for the 124gr pill on top of Titegroup is 4.0 grs for only about 1100 FPS.

Titegroup is known to be a bit snappy

How to make your Lee Auto Disc "DISCS" micro-adjustable

DBEAM,
Try the suggestions on this thread to fine tune your discs for accuracy:

Hope this helps!

Powder being equal I find I get better throws out of larger disk sizes. With Titegroup I end up using the .3, .32 and .34 disks for 9mm. It meters better for me when loading .45 with the larger disks.
BDS adjustable mod works well for me, give it a try.

For that bullet 4.2 looks to be about the middle of the charge range. (which is where a lot of my loads seem to work well )

PS
If you want to try something that dosen't meter pick up some Unique. Shoots great, for me it meters like :cuss:

What weight is the .34 hole giving you dudedog? When I tried it I think it was giving be around 3.9 gns. I'm so worried about squibs I wanted to be sure I was at least at the min of my manual.

.34 was giving me about 4 grains. .32 was around 3.7-3.8 .30 3.5-3.6 of Titegroup. This is one of the times that the listed VMD appears to be pretty close. (at least for the lb I have)
cc/VMD=grains
The .30 and .32 tended to be the lower number most of the time but I did see some swings as my digital I normally use rounds up or down to .1 (1 place) My Gen20 has finer res but is not as quick to use as my Frankford DS750.

I loaded up and shot a 150 or so 125 lead with 3.5 of Titegroup in my Springfield 1911 9mm, about 50 my Sig226 and another 50 in my XD subcompact. No functioning issues any any of the guns. Felt nice and soft, and didn't seem to shoot bad. 3.5 is .1 less than the recommend start charge, so I would think unless you are really light you won't have to worry about having a stuck bullet.

PS, sorry it took so long for the reply.

Today I tried using the .34 again and got around 3.9-4 grains on 12 bullets, one might have went between 3.8 and 3.9. I'm also using the Frankford DS750 so maybe the the rounding of taring the case and then the powder is part of it. All 12 cycled fine and felt fine so I think I was running a little hot using the .37 last time.

I understand being busy, I was trying to hurry up and test those loads today before going to pick up my boys and I was checking the last few bullets in magazine with my calipers to see if they were moving any under recoil. Anyways I left my caliper on top of my car when I drove off so I guess there went another 20 to reloading.
