9mm - Ammoload headstamp brass

Resizing a batch of 9mm today and found 2 pieces that felt weird when sizing. They seemed soft or something and the sizing was far to easy, almost no force needed on the handle. Since the first one felt weird, i dropped it in the case gauge and it won't go all the way in. I set it aside and a hundred or so later i had another one feel the same. Checked it in gauge, same thing and same headstamp.

Anyone out there seen this before or know anything about the Ammoload headstamp?

Yeah i see the ring inside but that doesn't explain why it doesn't fully seat into the case gauge or why it seems to resize so easily. For the time being i just set the 2 pieces aside but i have like 1200 more to size so no telling how many more i might find.

That looks really strange? Almost like there is a case inside of the case. And I don't see any exterior lines, at least not in that angle of the picture, that would indicate a center case crimp, or I guess it's referred to as a case canelure to prevent set back?

I thought they looked a little odd, primer pocket a little ragged, but they reloaded just fine. I'll give 3.00 per pound for your ammoloader brass! lol

I put in a search for ammoload brass because I was having trouble reloading it. Same soft feel, but also loading lead bullets is more trouble. I needed to expand these brass extra wide or the lead bullet crushes the side of the brass.

Ammoload is a company owned by Freedom Munitions. I use it exclusively in my sponsored ammo and have never had any problems with it, but I also don't reload for 9mm. I don't know why you would be having these problems, though.

Ive reloaded a couple hundred of my Ammoload brass so far without issue

Ammoload makes the heaviest 9mm case on the market- 65 grains. There is another flavor weighing 60grs

Check the thread on :"starline Brass in S&W shield" I thought people were talking about 88 grain weight cases...maybe I misread, there was some discussion about the shield in 40 S
&W also...

...Whoa! My bad, that was 45 cases, not 9mm!

And the internal shoulder position varies as well, from .330" to .400" south of the case mouth.

When I size/decap a 9 and it goes too easy,I usually find it is a 380?I never ran into that type of case. I will be on the alert for such an animal.

Very easy to cull out from the rest, once you have seen one and its ring inside the case, just a glance into the open case will tell you...I dont have to squint to see the headstamp with my old eyes! I reload them with no problem, but always sort cases by headstamp.
