What bullet in 9mm is gives the best bang for the reloading buck? I am just looking for something inexpensive but accurate to use for plinking and informal indoor matches? Also, what powder/bullet combo has proven successful?

Considering price and delivery I'd have to say Missouri Bullet. Best bang for the buck (no pun intended) and you can actually get them delivered sometime before Spring.

2 Great suppliers

Missouri Bullets is a great source of supply for cast bullets, with a very good selection. Just received a 2K box of their 9mm-125gr. "SmallBall" bullets. Another great supplier, for jacketed, or plated bullets, is LongDayJake, at Rockmtn Reloading. Check his post on reloading for sale on this board. I personally can recommend them both for top notch products/service.:D:D:D

Montana gold bullets are also very good, inexpensive, and quick delivery. Their rounds are jacketed and and some and TMJ. The 9mm 115gr are great.
