So, my one buddy has a suppressor on his AR9 and another buddy just bought a 10" AR pistol in .300 Blackout and wants to buy it.

Any issues anybody foresees with this? Im assuming degraded muffling performance from the larger hole, but would it be enough to render the whole excersize moot?

I'm assuming that the AR9 suppressor is a 9mm handgun can...?
If so, it WILL work on the Blackout - with subsonic ammo only ( full strength will prolly damage it ).
If you're asking if the Blackout buddy can buy the AR9 buddy's can from him.....I'd say there's gonna be some legality issues with that....still gonna need a tax stamp and such....:)

Barrel length and sub / supersonic could come to play. Check with the manufacturer to determine compatibility. For example, from the Rugged Suppressor site: https://ruggedsuppressors.com/pistol-suppressors/obsidian9/

Caliber Ratings
Belt Fed Rated for Pistol Calibers up-to 9mm
300BLK Subsonic (with an 8″ barrel)
9×39 subsonic (with an 8″ barrel)
350 Legend (with a 16″ barrel or longer)

I run my Torrent T9k on my 300 it's a small can so it's not real quiet on anything. But it's very tolerable on a 8" blackout with subs.

I cannot really tell a difference in sound between my 9mm mystic and my 30 cal resonator r2 running blackouts sub or super. a silencerco hybrid is definitely louder.

I used my Silencerco Octane9 on my 8.5” .300BLK and shot subsonics without issue. It suppressed very nicely, but as others have mentioned, you need to ensure that you only use subsonics when using a pistol can as most pistol cans are not built to endure supersonic loads.

I have since replaced it with a .300 Omega so I’m covered for both supers and subs.

I routinely use my 9mm Trident 9 can with a 10" SBR Contender in 300 Whisper...all subsonic loads....Ive run everything from 90 grain xtp bullets through 250 woodleighs through it without issue.
