9mm carbine, worth it?

I've got a KelTec Sub2000 in 9mm, which I had before we started doing the BBTI testing.

Yeah, using factory loads, 9mm doesn't gain nearly as much from the longer barrel as does a .357. But look at our data, and you'll see that it does gain a bit over handgun-length barrels.

But that's not why I have it. I have it so that I can use the same ammo in a handgun and a carbine, if it ever comes to some situation where that is an advantage. And out to 50 yards, the Sub2K is dependably accurate, much moreso than I am with any handgun. Besides, as threefortyduster says upthread, the thing is *incredibly* fun to shoot.

9mm Carbine

I have to agree with the other posters, especially Cornhusker77. I keep a Highpoint 9mm carbine on the back porch and it has dispatched the occasional raccoon or coyote, when the .357 was not handy. When ever a new or novice shooter stops by we all get a kick out of dumping a few 15 round mags down range. I reload lead bullets and it shoot just fine, if I can find the doggone casings.
