None or any one if them depending. My normal carry is a PM9, but ust got a Smith 3913. But if i didnt already have a carry 9mm, any if those listed work, just a matter if personal preference.

CW9. Longer barrel than the Shield, disappears on my body, has bar-dot sights like I like.

Two and half years of daily carry with about a thousand rounds through it at the range and it has never failed me in any way.

3 out of 4

I owned a KAHR CW9 and have the GLOCK 26 and S&W Shield and I would not choose any of them for myself.

The problem with all three for me was the unpleasant recoil. I could shoot them and have shot the even small RUGER LC9. I just do not want to again. I shot 50 rounds through all 3 and I just knew that I would not want to shoot them again.

I am not saying that any of them are bad guns. I carried a GLOCK 19 or 17 on duty for about 5 years. I also own a SPRINGFIELD ARMORY XD Sub Compact and it is fine as a shooter and very concealable in a pancake holster because of the short slide/barrel and grip.
I found that it was just heavy enough and had a large enough grip area with the short 13 round magazine to be pleasant to shoot and easily controlled. When I shot the GLOCK 26, I used the GLOCK 10 round magazine and the GLOCK 19 15 round magazine. With the longer GLOCK 19 magazine, it was like night and day for me.

My duty weapon is a .40S&W and I am usually one of the top qualifiers, so it is all relative on the recoil question. Some of the people I work with have bought .40S&W WALTHER PPS pistols which are in the same size range, but they rarely shoot their pistols. I want to be able to put a couple of 50 round boxes at a time down the range with whatever I am shooting or carrying.

It all comes down to your individual recoil tolerance. I have discovered mine is not as great as it used to be.

I recommend that you try a gun rental with each one and see which works best for you.

S&W Shield 9mm for me. Shoots great, conceals well, ultra reliable with any ammo. I like the Federal HST 124 grain hollow points for carry.

PM 9 is great. I would also add the LCR . 38+P. despite it feels like it is blowing up in your hand. I cannot imagine what the LCR .357 feels like.

.40 cal has a very unpleasant snappy sharp recoil just the opposite of the .45 ACP recoil.
It was the opposite for me on the G-23 where I was not looking forward to shooting a box of 50. Then again these guns are not range guns but your last resort type of guns where you give up size for concealment and pay for the extra recoil. The LCR .38+P is even worse as it hurts to shoot that gun but when your life is in danger you probably won't notice it at all.

None of the above choices listed in your poll.

I am partial to the Sig P938. And lately I have been carrying a S&W 642 airweight 38 special. Also fond of the XDS in .45 acp. I've never fired an XDS in 9mm.

Just be glad that most of you here probably don't have that feature on your pistol where if the magazine is removed you cannot fire the round that is in the chamber.
Alot of new autos coming out are coming with this so called magazine safety feature. Tactically its bad because gun becomes a club when magazine drops out whereas if normal at least you can have one in the chamber ready to re-load or whatever and or that much less to go wrong if your magazine should accidentally get removed from gun.

I carry a Gen 3 Glock 26 most of the time. I have a history with the platform that makes it familiar, and that understanding also means I'm comfortable doing all maintenance and modifications I could want, and that I already own plenty of accessories.

The Shield holds some appeal, and has for years. However, I strongly prefer having a double-digit magazine as a base, with the option of plugging in a larger Glock 17/19 magazine. And really, I don't have trouble concealing the G26 AIWB, so for me the Shield becomes a solution to a nonexistent problem.

I carried a Kel Tec PF-9 from 2009 until a few months ago. It served me well until I recently upgraded to a XDS 3.3. The PF9 is a better gun to carry, but the XDS is a much better shooter.

None of the above:
9mm Sig 239 NOW.
Maybe Remington R-51 9mm IF mine ever comes back 'fixed'. Was a nice carry and shooter the very few times I got to try it..

I have a few bills & $$$ issues but plan to buy a NIB S&W Shield 9x19mm with the "no thumb safety" format later this year.
It's small, easy to carry, easy to field-strip & clean & has lots of holsters/parts/gear for it. :)
I'd add Trijicon HD sights & maybe Metalife or Cerakote(SOCOM blue & or the darker grey color).
M&P Shields are very popular.
Last summer(2014) I worked on a site with a small town LE officer who told me she wanted a new Shield to replace her Glock 26 9mm that she used off duty.
The other models are good too but the "no thumb safety" Shield 9x19mm has a lot to offer & can last years.
I notice a preference for the no thumb safety. Why is this? Is it the fear of forgetting to turn it to fire at the moment of truth, or something else? I own a Shield, with thumb safety, and have thought of buying one without just because I see this mentioned, figured I better ask why.

Obviously, I have a Shield, dont care for the 26, prefer 19. (love the 30S, but that's for a different thread)
