I am changing my ideas about what I want in a carry pistol. I used to want and currently have a DA Only. I know that the terminology is evolving, but what I think of when I think DA Only - is the same trigger pull - every time. I am finding that I do not like the short trigger like the Glocks have, and I don't really like most of the long DA only pulls. What I do like is the typical DA/SA with a heavy DA pull and then subsequent light pulls until decocked. What is the smallest pistol, 9mm min caliber, that would offer DA/SA and a decocker?

Most people when referring to a 9mm are talking about a 9x19. When they refer to a 9x18 they usually say Makarov. When they refer to a 9x17 they usually say 380.:scrutiny:
.....but then you already knew that.

The smallest I can currently think of is the P99c.

    It's outstanding.

Glocks have short trigger pulls? Not in my opinion, but then again it's all personal preference.

You do know you can swap out the parts to make it longer right? It's a 10 minute job.

S&W CS-9. Long heavy DA pulls with short SA pulls with short trigger resets.

The S&W 3913 isn't much bigger, and is a bit thinner due to grips.

P239 is reasonably svelte if a tad heavier than the P99 or P2000 compacts.

If your idea of "DA/SA" is flexible, the H&K P7 is pretty space efficient, if you can find one.

    make it longer?

No, TheEconomist, I didn't know I could make a Glock trigger pull longer. I thought I could just put in a different spring and get a different pull weight. Please tell me more...

Walther P99C with the AS trigger.
Bersa Thunder 9 Ultracompact is another option in the same size range.

    for war

Yes indeed, I do mean 9mm For War (para bellum)!

ModifiedBrowning, from the Walther web site it appears that the 99c only comes with the QA trigger, is there a way to get one with the AS Trigger?

RSR Group has the P99C AS listed as a current item. AFAIK Walther is still importing AS versions of the P99.
www.waltherforums.com is a good resource for information as well.

The Rami sounds like a good choice. It's a fine, well-built little gun. I would prefer a decocker, though. I've carried my CZ75B a few times, but in addition to being large and heavy, I don't like loading the gun and decocking it in my house. I can do it safely enough; I just don't like doing it. Now I carry my Glock 26 as my exclusive 9mm carry gun.

I have been thinking about getting the new Sig 239 SAS in 9mm. I have no logical reason for this except that I really dig the gun.

I vote CZ 2075 RAMI. Also, I believe there's a DA/SA version of the Taurus PT-111 Pro now, too, but I'd opt for the CZ.

H&K P2000SK is a sweet gun, too, IMO. Much better than the Taurus.

The smaller 9mm pistols that first come to mind are either striker fired or dao. If you're looking for DA/SA, the only one I can think of is the S&W CS9
