Hello all I just bought 500 speer 4602 125gr lead bullets. I loaded a few test loads last night and I noticed that when seating to 1.135(which I do for my glocks) that the cannelure was completely pushed in the case. Is this ok? From what I've read a lot of folks seat the bullet to where the case mouth taper crimp inside the cannelure. If I did this I would be outside of 9mm oal specs. Even the hodgdon websites lists data for this bullet at 1.125 which is .010 shorter than what I'm running. So am I ok? Thanks for any info.

I didn't look up that bullet but I'm gonna venture a guess that the canelure is for use in a 38/357 revolver. Ignore it for your 9mm.

Not sure why they would have a canalure on a 9mm bullet but I would just ignore it. Do not just seat the bullet based on what you do for your other loads! each time you get a different manufacture bullet, adjust the seating based on whatever is the longest that will pass the plunk test in your barrel. provided neck tension is good

I would hope it was pushed all the way in the case, since it is half-way down the bearing surface.
PS: it really doesn't matter where a cannelure is or anything else. Find the COL that works for you and use that for all load work-up.
