Would like to find some load data for 147 gr. XTP's Can't seem to find much in the Lyman, Lee, Or the one shot manuals. Tried some SR7625 at mid load and it wouldn't even cycle the action, but accurate at 15 yds. Titegroup shot well. I have some autocomp and HP38 on hand. If I can find a accurate a reliable load I want to use it for personal defense in my S/W M&P 9c

Watch the OAL with those bullets. They have to be seated to a shorter OAL.
I learned the hard way and had a kaboom.
I'm also using 3.5 - 3.9 of W231 (HP38).
I'm not very happy with the results I get from Tite Group

I use WSF and LongShot in 9mm for 147.
Power Pistol, CFE Pistol, Aa#7 are also good. Don't forget BlueDot,Herco, or Unique.
I use HP38 in 115gr loads but it and TiteGroup are too fast for 147's.

For SD your best bet from what you have is probably the Autocomp
(CFE-P works well for MAX loads, Longshot gives top vels but a large flash, WSF works well for light-med to heavy loads for me in 9mm)
For HP38/W231 Lyman 50 lists start 3.5gr 855fps max 4.1gr 957fps 147TMJ @ 1.115OAL
Hogdgon data
147 GR. HDY XTP Winchester AutoComp .355" 1.100" 3.6 827 27,900 PSI 4 916 32,800 PSI
147 GR. HDY XTP Hodgdon Longshot .355" 1.100" 3.8 851 25,700 PSI 4.7 1004 33,800 PSI
147 GR. FMJ Winchester WSF .355" 1.169" 3.9 895 28,400 PSI 4.3 950 32,300 PSI
147 GR. HDY XTP Hodgdon CFE Pistol .355" 1.100" 3.7 864 26,700 PSI 4.2 963 33,000 PSI
(Slightly shorter OAL for the XTPs)

Why did you not keep working up the load with SR7625 until it did then?

That is a pretty slow powder. If Titegroup will cycle your slide there is no reason this one shouldn't.

Will try that. Loaded to mid load, 3.0. Start load is 2.8 max 3.3 Going to try 3.2 and see what happens on the s0r7625. Will also try the HP38 and A-comp and report back.

Well, shot the SR7625 at 3.2 with the exact same results. Tried the a- comp with good results. Loaded some HP38 and am happy with the results. I bought the IMR a while back when I couldn't find any green dot for .45 ACP. 200 gr. RNFP at 6.5 gr. 1.225 OAL. It fired well in my 1911 so i'll use it for that.

In my opinion if you have a powder & your happy with it there is no need to look farther. Of course there is no need to stop if your doing it for the education or fun if it ether.

It still seems odd that powder won't work. Can I see a picture of a fired primer still in the case? What is your OAL?

Haven't used that powder for a long time, maybe it's bad. Primer is normal and OAL is 1.104 Going to load up some .45 ACP tomorrow and see what happens with it as I know it works with it.

If you can find some SR4756 you would be set. My most accurate 9mm loadings was with 147 xtps and an almost full charge of SR4756.

I've got some pulled 147 grain JHP's that I'm going to load with longshot, 4.5 grains with 1.100 oal. I'll see if I can go longer with a plunk test, if not, I'll stick with that.
