My normal rule is "Commie ammo for Commie guns" ie - the Bears's etc for my Bulgy Mak or my WASR10. But at under $12/box for this stuff, I'm tempted to run some of this thru my G19.

Its non-corrosive but steel cased. Any pro's/con's? Extractor issues? Anybody have any experience with it? All the Bear ammo I've ever used has performed flawlessly.

I'd definitely like to find a few boxes of that to try. Most 14_ grain hp ammunition is 20 rounds for a ~$20 box.

Great price, but one of the reviewers said not to use it as a defensive ammo. Three rounds fired into water and none expanded.

I havent had good luck with expansion on any of the russian ammo I have tried, but the brown bear 9mm is good stuff for targets.
If you are looking for inexpensive hollowpoints, Reminton loads 115gr in 100 round boxes, its definatly not gold dot or winchester ranger, but they do open up, and are resonably acurate. I can usually pick up a box of those at Wal mart for $35 or so.

Yeah

Figured they wouldn't be optimum for Self-Defense. I have Golden Sabre for that. Was just looking to punch some paper and wondered if there might be any long-term damage to the extractor on my G19 due to steel cases.

The steel cases shouldnt cause any issues. I would think you are correct to think that they might, as steel is harder than brass, but to my knowledge, the steel usedin the cases is mild steel, where the extractor should be hardened to some degree.
Im not sure what is involved in changing a glock extractor, but if extractor wear is your concern, you could consider the cost of repplacing it the cost savings of the ammo.

Extractors are a wear item in most pistols, so if it increases wear, it will only abreviate the maitnence schedule for you gun.

I think Glock extractors are inexpensive, but the soft steel used in cartridge cases shouldn't cause you any issues at all. I haven't used a ton of steel cased in any of my guns except the AR-15 I used to have, but it never created an issue for me or left any enhanced wear on anything.
