9x18 JHP ammo - What's good, where to buy?

I've heard a lot of good things about Barnaul Tiger 95 gr JHPs and other Barnaul JHPs, but can't find them to buy them. Where can I buy this stuff? Is it still made? Still imported?

I've also heard a lot of good things and some bad about Silver Bear 115 grain JHPs.

I'd really prefer some peppy JHPs that weigh 95 gr to 100 gr and have some good velocity. As much velocity as a CZ-83 or Mak with 19 lb spring can safely handle. Preferably over 1100 fps. Ideally 1150 fps.

Is this possible? Safe? Available?

Taken from highpowersandhandguns.com

Barnaul Tiger 95-gr. JHP 1062 (ES: 41, SD: 14)
Barnaul 95-gr. JHP 1051 (ES: 26, SD: 8)
LVE Brown Bear 115-gr. JHP 1018 (ES: 32, SD: 10)
Hornady 95-gr. XTP 979 (ES: 82, SD: 24)
Corbon 95-gr. JHP +P 1121 (ES: 24, SD: 8)

Looks like you're going to have to go to a Corbon +P load to get close to your ideal range. Personally, I use the Hornady 95gr XTP factory loads and have been suitably happy with their performance on milk jugs and watermelons. If I were going to shoot the Corbon +P loads exclusively, I might would look into a 20-21lb recoil spring.

OK. Where can I buy this one?

Barnaul Tiger 95-gr. JHP 1062 fps

Is it still made? Imported? Where can I buy it?

Various 9x18 Barnaul loads

I still haven't found where I can buy any Barnaul, but I have found that there are (or were) 3 types of Barnaul 9x18 JHPs.

Barnaul 95 gr JHP 1020 fps

Barnaul Tiger 95 gr JHP 1053 fps

Barnaul Ram 95 gr JHP 1069 fps

None of these are rated plus P, but then I don't know if the Ruskies use that label anyway.

The Tiger is actually the medium Barnaul load. The Ram is their barn burner.

I'd be very happy with Tiger and even more so with Ram.

Are these still made? Still imported? Where can I buy?

Please advise, thanks.

Apparently Barnaul is history for JHP

Silver Bears are reputedly good, if you get a stiffer recoil spring.

I like Federal Eagle, but it's ball.

Makarov.com told me there will me many new JHP ammo choices in the near future. So just hold on a couple months.
