A bs claim on 7.62x39 ballistics

...probably destabilized after passing back through the sound barrier...

I would think at 600 yards, the projectile would arrive before the sound wave.
At over 2000 fps muzzle velocity, the bullet already has a hell of a head start.
Wouldn't it spend more time over 1200 fps in a 600 yard dash than it would under?

What do you think is special about the 103 that would make it's accuracy any better than any other well made AK? Its really just a an AK74 chambered in in 7.62.

And you can get an almost exact AK103 from arsenal with original Russian or Bulgarian receiver, barrel, bolt, carreir, etc. Aside from the lack of select fire a few american parts it is a real AK10

I used to shoot one. It was the gun I learned on, and believe me, it was very accurate. It could compete with the AR-15 in accuracy.

Just out of curiousity, I ran a maximum-distance calculation for a 122-grain 7.62x39mm bullet at 2350 ft/sec with a ballistic coefficient of 0.260 (e.g., typical Wolf JHP out of a 16" barrel). Given an initial elevation of 30 degrees, the bullet comes down just over 3,250 yards away (1.8 miles) after 24 seconds of flight.
That time of flight seems awfully long . . .

The .45 acp caliber or the 1911 design?

Sorry the 1911 AKA Government model .45 acp ("Automatic Colt Pistol")
(don't ask me who Elmer Kieth was or I'll shoot you in the head with a bazooka) :D

I have a "civilian" Government Model because its not a "military" 1911. ;)
(as in Colt Government Model Mk. IV Series 80)
Potato, tomato - potayto, potahto, tomayto, tomahto. Or I could just call it a Remington R1

I had a friend once ask me about the 7mm remington mag. It seems someone told him that when fired at a thousand yards the bullet drop would only be 1/2 inch. After I stopped laughing, I explained that someone sold his acquaintance a bill of goods and that if it indeed shot that flat, everone would have one and pretty soon most of the other calibers would fall by the wayside. I went on to explain that you could indeed sight in a rifle to be right on at long range and then I went on to explain a little.

There is a lot of BS out there.
