Well, About 2 weeks ago, i got my first centerfire rifle. It is a Malrin 336w. After about a wek, i finally got to shoot it. this was the first time i had ever shot a centerfire and i was really excited. To my surprise, it kicked a little harder than i had anticipated, especially a lot sharper since it has a hard plastic buttplate.i put a box through it (20 rounds) and my shoulder was slightly sore. i had shot plenty of heavy buckshot loads before, through a relatively light mossberg 500, but this thing just seemed to sting more. Flash forward to today. We (my father and i) finished shooting a couple rounds of trap, and my fathers friend asks if we want to go shoot his Thompson Center pistol, in 30-30 . I havent shot a pistol yet either , but i said sure. so, i took him up on the offer. i was nervous as all he//, and i made him shoot it twice first. This only made me more nervous because of the enormous muzzle blast and fireball:banghead:. I finally just sucked it up and shot it, and it kicked far less than i anticipated. it jumped enough that a lot of te recoil was soaked up. to wrap up, in the past two weeks, i fired my first centerfire rifle, and my first handgun, both in 30-30. Oh yeah, can any of you compare the kick of this handgun, to the kick of some other handgun, i want to know what to look for
