The very best option today is the Barnes all copper hands down. I have never saw any test where it didn't expand nicely!

I was expecting 1400-1450 out of the 125's and 1250-1300 out of the 158's. Not too impressed, but for paper punching they are okay.

WOW!

Good enough! But a 158gr at 1050 fps sure ain't 'low recoil' out of a M60 Chiefs!

I hope their non +p 158gr LSWHPs work in my Colt Cobra I got.. Paid just over $300 for the gun but I don't want +p in it.

I haven't done testing on Underwood's 158's yet but his 125's are Nuclear. I got 1550 FPS average out of my 4" pipe.:what:

He has been working on the 158's and might be there now.

BTW... I get the same 1300 FPS out of the Federal 158's as 67.

I got my order a few days ago and while I don't have a chronograph I got the feeling they were really moving.

The Underwood .357's, while not as inexpensive as the UMC's, are probably the best value when it comes to the boutique, mail order ammo. I paid around $34 for 50 rounds, compared to others, that's a pretty good deal.

Deaf Smith, you're right they are not low recoil but they have slower than what BB says they should be out of a 3" inch S&W barrel.

My practice load is a 158 gr LSWC at about 900 fps.
