A Good HK 91 Clone? Maybe...

Haven't seen one yet but here are the specs:

All parts are manufactured to original German Military specifications.

Receivers are manufactured from (.059) steel. Original Military bases, mounts and scopes will fit this rifle.

Fitted with 18-inch high quality heat-treated steel, heavy target barrel with 1 in 12 inches twist polygonal rifling for superb accuracy.

A one piece, high quality forged, heat-treated, CNC finished, almost indestructible cocking handle with excellent ergonomics for easier operation and handling. This is better than anything produced today!

A brand new, laser-cut to exacting military specs, heat-treated front sight. There is also a brand new, high quality knurled aluminum end cap.

Rear sight, brand new, French-style peep sight on the rear dioptor with a knurled target knob for adjustable windage without the use of special tools.

This semi-automatic, recoil-operated rifle with delay roller is equipped with a most desirable two-stage target trigger, allowing much better control than a single stage trigger

Sold with a 20 Round magazine, the rifle will also accept a 5 and 10 round box magazine.

Manufactured from high quality polymer, the sturdy, attractive furniture consists of a pistol grip, hand guard and stock.

A brand new fully machined trunnion manufactured to original German military specifications. to our knowledge, ours is the ONLY new trunnion on the market.

Finish on this rifle is a two-step process; parkerized and coated with an oven-baked scratch resistant black paint in a matte finish that gives excellent protection from abrasion in the field.

I wonder how good they are..They have them listed for $789.00, which doesn't sound that bad. I wonder if the gun is a lemon or not..

Tamara, the ad in CDNN says that they are called a "PTR-91" 308 Target and that's it..

No full name is given.

Got this in a "new product" update from one of my dealer associations.

And they are in no way associated with SW. The company is in CT.

I'll know more when I contact them for terms.

From the specs they are on the right track, German Spec, polygon barrel and two stage target trigger. Suppossedly the sticker price will be under $1000.

Seriously though I was thinking along the same lines given the Poly Hbar and two stage trigger.

That's low blow SteyrAUG, hehe. Judging by the photochopped picture I posted, I too would believe I do the design work for SW.(Tactical Weapon's Website= ) I don't know the quality of his products, but the design is just wrong.

Back to the clone..
I am torn by half a dozen different choices, including two AK's and a couple of FAL varients. I also saw that one in CDNN's latest issue. Somebody buy one and tell me if they are any good.
I don't wanna be the guinea pig..
Currently, I could muster the money for one of them, but not all.
It really sucks, but I have to prioritize.

Some interesting information. Turns out CDNN does not have, and never did have, these rifles. HOWEVER, they have them listed on their "Closeouts" page at a below dealer cost.

I'm wondering how you have a liquidation sale on firearms you never had in inventory. Of course CDNN is famous for this type of thing and why I don't use them as a reliable supplier.

After a bit more poking around I don't think ANYONE has these rifles yet I'm gonna go to the source this week and see what I can find out.

First I get guys all day long thinking I can get them one that cheap. Then when I occassionally consider using them as a source, they don't have it at all, never did, and often never will.

I have heard from a few places that the deal fell through.

One of the many reasons I don't do business with CDNN.
