Introducing the Walther G22 Semi Auto Rifle
WALTHER continues its long-standing tradition of manufacturing small-bore rifles that have won numerous gold medals in the Olympic games and at World Championship matches with the introduction of the new WALTHER G22.
The WALTHER G22 employs an innovative "Bullpup" design for the first time on any WALTHER rifle. The G22 with its full line of accessories is a utilitarian rifle for hunting, competitive shooting or just plinking.

G22 Details

"innovative "Bullpup" design for the first time on any WALTHER rifle"
The WA 2000 was a bullpup:

Big bump from a little bit ago. I got to handle one for a few minutes at a store's sale today. Has anyone got one yet to give feedback on them? Worth the $399 MSRP?

My biggest first impressions were that the sucker was a lot heaver than it looked, and wanting more time to get a better look at the sights.

Yes, the sale was at Reed's. I can't remember the exact price they had on it, but it wasn't that impressive. Actually, sadly, most of their sales weren't that impressive...not much less than what I could find the stuff for myself.

This is the first report I've read of a G22 sighting. Hopefully we'll all get to see one soon!

-I saw one locally yesterday as well. I did not ask the price. I like the -idea- of bullpups, and I think there's not a lot of danger in using the design for rimfires, but the only rimfires I want to buy would be in either of the "17" calibers, not another 22. -And up close, the overall construction does not appear real good--for example, the barrel is pretty thin, and there's no room left around it to fit a thicker barrel or to insulate the plastic stock from the heat. Minor details, but them's the difference between a good job and a great one. I can see where some people (especially kids) would get a kick out of it though, it has that mall-ninja look, just like the P22.
