Been reloading for more years than I care to admit. About 5 years ago my usual supplier quit the business, Not sure what to do, I looked on the net and selected 4 potential suppliers and placed orders with all of them. Got them all OK and quality was very similar from all 4 suppliers. As I reload pretty high quantities, another factor became cost. Here is where one company stood out. "Z Cast Bullets" . I made further purchases from them and have been really pleased with their product.. They have many calibers and styles available. I use them for my 9mm, 38 cal, 45ACP and 45 Colt. They have all proved to be very consistent and after working up loads, I can constantly shoot sub 2 inch groups offhand from 15 yards. Never any sign of bore leading either, even after session shooting in excess of 300 rounds, Now 5 years later Z cast is still my supplier for cast and lubed. I ordered again this week and my order was delivered within 3 days!.
Saved quite a bit of cash using Z cast and just wanted to share my experience!.
if you want to try them, Contact: Robby at [email protected]

Happy and Safe shooting to all!. Its summer and I'm loving it and catching up on my shooting after being out of commission for 8 monhs due to a knee injury!

Thanks, your realistic depiction of handgun accuracy alone gives some credibility. Missouri and RMR are my go to, but always looking to try something closer.

+1 for Z Cast which I have used for several years with good results.

In my early days of reloading, I used harder 20+ BHN lead bullets and found I needed to push them to near max load data to prevent leading. Well, many factory barrels are oversized and I was advised to use larger sized bullets than typical to produce proper "bullet-to-barrel fit". Trouble is, you could reach a point of oversized bullets to where finished rounds won't chamber in the barrel.

When I found Missouri Bullet Company with 18 BHN bullets, I found softer alloy deformed/bumped the bullet base better to seal with the barrel, even with oversized factory barrels which allowed me to use lower powder charges without leading (Very few of my reloads are near max/max load data). When I was getting leading with MBC 18 BHN 200 gr SWC (IDP #1) in my Taurus PT145 with oversized barrel, using softer 12 BHN 200 gr SWC (Bullseye #1) deformed/bumped the bullet base sufficiently even with lighter powder charges (4.8 gr W231/HP-38, 4.0 gr Red Dot/Promo) to eliminate leading.

When I found "Z Cast bulletz" after using Matt Dardas bullets (Dardas retired and closed business), I found Z Cast's 14-16 BHN to be very suitable for 9mm/40S&W/45ACP target velocity loads that produced accuracy likely from readily deformed/bumped bullet base even with lower powder charges to better seal with barrels - https://www.jacobeagle.com/about

"Z Cast uses a Lead Alloy Mixture containing Lead, Antimony and Tin and has a BHN hardness of 14-16"

And when many bullet casters moved to 9mm RN profile with shorter/rounder nose to increase the length of bullet base, Z Cast (Along with Dardas) was one of few casters who still offered "stepped" more pointed RN profile bullets that worked better with barrels with shorter leade.

If you look at the comparison picture below, you will note the "step" in Dardas/Z Cast RN that allows the short leade start of rifling to clear the bullet with typical 1.125" OAL.

When the founder of Z Cast passed away, it was uncertain what would happen to Z Cast but we were happy to hear business would continue - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/z-cast-bulletz-returns.800823/

If you are using oversized factory barrels with leading issues or use lower target velocity loads, definitely consider Z Cast bullets with softer 14-16 BHN alloy. And their pricing is hard to beat - https://www.jacobeagle.com/bullets?page=2
