I've been reloading for a little over 2 years now and have always got my cast bullets from the same supplier. Recently curiosity got the best of me and I decided to see what another suppliers bullets would be like. So after waiting about 4 weeks my bullets finally arrived, with anticipation I opened the box,and my smile, well it did'nt last long. right on the top were a few unlubed bullets. I'm by far a perfectionist and I know your gonna have a few in every batch when your mass producing cast bullets. I then decided to do a little digging an found about 50 outta 1000 with no lube or less than half lube on them. Alot of the remaining 950 were a seating dies worst nightmare. Just wanted to see what some of you more experienced loaders thought about this? Is this worthy of a complaint to the supplier? Appreciate any feedback, thanks

My first order of cast was from a supplier that is raved about on here. About 250 9mm bullets & 100 45 was like that. Since I never ordered cast before I posted a question on here to see if it was common. The manufacture of them along with other manufactures was quick to reply if they came from them they would be quick to replace them.

I was expecting 350 bullets & 2 days later I got 1000 bullets. Not only was I happy but I felt better then Christmas day. Not just to have so many bullets but that went to the extent they did. I was already impressed with all of the manufactures that contacted me wanting to fix the problem be for I contacted them. That is CS.

I couldn't even waste the 350. I had to scrape the box & find any little extra I could to lube most of them.

I have some Lee lube I could try for the rest but first I'll have to learn how to get it thin enough to come out of the bottle. The instructions say pore. No way that is going to happen unless your suppose to heat it.

I have purchased near 10,000 cast bullets from Missouri Bullet (all .38 cal) and have five un-lubed bullets sitting in a cup. The remaining have seated easily. My experience has been far different than yours. I think your experience would justify a call to the supplier.

Ya,+1 for MBC thats my normal supplier. Makes you wonder why that curiosity thing gets the best of ya. But I guess you don't know till ya try. I've never had any trouble from MBC, always great quality, and service. Lucky to find 1 or 2 outta every 1000. If it ain't broke don't fix it I guess!!

I bet that supplier starts with a P, right? I ordered a box from them before I got my casting setup for a certain bullet that I needed for competition. Many were poorly/not lubed and the bullets them selves were all banged up, I ran them through my lubrisizer to fix them. I now cast everything myself and get what I want everytime.

Well Striker Fired the cats out of the bag now. Maybe it's time for him to switch to thompson's blue lube. Guess I should'nt of gave it away so easily with the red lube,OOPS. Think i'll just mosey back west to MBC. Can't blame a guy for try'in!!

kingmt, I heat a Tupperware bowl of water in the microwave and then loosen the top on the Alox bottle. Set the bottle in the water for about 5 minutes and it will pour right out. Good luck.
