A gun has never killed anybody but mental illness has!!

Guns, guns, guns!! They kill people. Let's change the laws; lets repeal the second ammendment! Blah, blah, blah! I have listened to countless bits of broadcasts and I haven't heard anybody mention addressing mental illness! A gun never killed anybody but a mentally ill person (with a gun in their hand) sure as hell has. And many blame the gun?? What the hell is the matter with people? We are attacking the wrong issues. :banghead:

Maybe we need more research, more awareness, more education, better medical intervention? We spend billions on heart disease, aids, cancer, and the list goes on. Oh yea, we have Prozac, etc. Every night on TV, there are numerous commercials about erectile dysfunction. How much on TV about mental illness?? Am I missing something? It would appear to me brains malfunction like every other part of the body--sometimes with deadly consequences. Just seems to me like not much effort is being taken to try to fix it; or maybe there is no fix. Like everything else, I'm sure it has to do with $$$$.
