Beretta, is the parent company of Tikka and Sako, IMHO some of the best factory rifles currently made.

As a left-handed shooter I loved the way Tikka and Sako made a broad array of calibers available in their lefty guns. They even made more than one action length. I own two Sakos and a Tikka, so I put my $$$ where my mouth is.

Well I guess all good things have to come to an end. The latest Beretta catalog shows NO left-handed Tikkas, and left-handed Sakos in only THREE calibers! To add insult to injury they make some statement like "three popular calibers .25.06, .270, and 30.06 give the lefty everything he needs from antelope to elk". How patronizing can you get!

My most recent purchase is a Weatherby Ultralight in .257 Wby. Bye-bye Tikka and Sako, it was fun while it lasted.

They may not be as fancy, or as highly regarded, but my money will go to Savage (again) if I ever buy another bolt gun (again).

They make more than one action length for us lefties too.

Isn't it strange that there's an increasing number of products that are tailored to specific markets, but us left-handed shooters are being left in the cold?

I guess I'll have to give my Savage an extra hug today.

Yeah, but...

At least it was a correct statement:

three popular calibers .25.06, .270, and 30.06 give the lefty everything he needs from antelope to elk"

I mean, they could even have dropped .25-06 out of there, and it would still be a correct statement. ;)

But, I'm just a simple kind of guy. I look at some of the caliber selections in some guns nowadays, and it leaves me in a panic. I'm the guy that sits at Baskin Robbins for two days trying to pick a flavor. You give me too many caliber choices and I'll never buy a gun.

As long as you're only shooting big game you're all set! Just don't go varmint hunting!

Arrrrgh! Just saw that Weatherby has stopped making left-handed rifles as well!

Maybe they are hoping all that genetic research will "fix" all you left handed people! J/K! :p

I am glad I don't have those concerns... especially rifle wise, while there are plenty of options for handgunners... there is a severe lack for you bolt action folks... :(

My older brother, when teaching me to shoot, made me learn right-handed because "You'll hate rifle-buying time if you don't". Even tho I'm left-eye dominant and fully lefty, I shoot very well right handed and have grown accustomed to it...so much so I can't shoot the other way anymore worth a crap.

FWIW, I also play guitar right handed for the same reasons.
